Hello it's Pring, Sucette designer & founder! I'd like to share with you today my biggest aesthetic influences and inspirations.
I have been designing shoes and fashion products for over a decade, for my own previous brand and many international brands but my other true love is art—I actually studied art history and was a dancer for some years! I reached a point in my life where I wanted to combine all my passions and express my true self and aesthetic.
Sucette for me is a vehicle not only to create more value in the world by supporting communities of artisans and offering you a high quality product that lasts, but also to express my creativity and love for the arts.
I am deeply inspired by all forms of creative expression: cinema, photography, painting, sculpture, contemporary art, music and dance.
My artistic icons include Cy Twombly, Francis Bacon, Anselm Kiefer, Sandro Botticelli, Francisco Goya, Vermeer, William Forsythe, Pina Bausch, Guy Bourdin, Irving Penn, Sylvie Guillem, David Lynch, Alfred Hitchcock...the list goes on!
The natural world is also another main inspiration. I love to be in nature and am a bit obsessed with landscapes, birds, and plants!
I love colour and love to draw inspiration from the astonishing hues of rare tropical birds, the more subtle palette of wild European landscapes and even the changing colours of the skies...
I believe inspiration ultimately comes from within, but in order to have that innate aesthetic wisdom, we must be curious enough to explore the larger world and take in as many sights and experiences as possible, to keep fuelling the light of our creativity!
